Introduction to GeoSyn 1D/2D

Streamline geophysical interpretation

Want to benefit fully from your software? Seeking detailed training?

GeoSyn is a 1D and 2D modeling tool designed to be used by geoscientists who want to bring geology into seismic interpretation. The ability to generate 1D synthetics, do AVO analysis and create 2D models is enhanced by the ability to edit and model the original log data allowing a better tie with the seismic and try “what if’s” to better understand your geophysical interpretation. This GeoSyn training will ensure you can:

  • Streamline seismic interpretation
  • Develop synthetics with minimal assistance
  • Generate simple or complex structural and stratigraphic models
  • Utilize all features of GeoSyn
  • Earn APEGA professional development credits

Course Topics

GeoSyn 1D
  • Working with GeoSyn 1D (importing, adding/editing models, editing logs)
  • Working with Wavelets (import/edit wavelets, use time variants)
  • Working with Tops (exporting, correlations in seismic, working with tops, working with display)
  • Advanced GeoSyn skills (duplicate logs, reflection coefficients, AVO, cross plotting, file management)
GeoSyn 2D
  • Using GeoSyn 2D (importing, correlations)
  • Using models (displaying traces, color)
  • Advanced GeoSyn skills with 2D (edit logs, wavelets, importing)
