Dr. Plotkin brings more than three decades of experience working for both operating companies and consulting firms in the petrochemical industry to his role as head of the new IHS training and education practice. He is internationally recognized as a gifted educator on the subjects of the technology and business of petrochemicals. Dr. Plotkin is coauthor of a recently published textbook, "Industrial Organic Chemicals, third edition" (Wiley Interscience, 2012) and a contributing editor of the American Chemical Society's "Patent Watch" on www.chemistry.org . He holds 30 US patents and has authored more than 25 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Prior to joining IHS, he served as vice president of Nexant/Chem System's training programs. Dr. Plotkin holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Organometallic Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S., and an Master of Business Administration from PACE University, New York City, New York, U.S. He also served as a post-doctoral research fellow at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, U.S.
