Research Director, Digital Media
Dan Cryan, Research Director of Digital Media for IHS, oversees the company's output on the business and economics of broadband, the digital distribution of ebooks, movies, music, TV and user-generated content and the relationship between content and consumer technology. He is regularly quoted in the press about the evolution of the global media business. Mr. Cryan leads a worldwide team that monitors, models and forecasts the digital media business. These models, which are built on a built on a granular, service-by-service basis, are the first of their kind anywhere in the world. Mr. Cryan is an expert on the way that the internet and connected home are transforming the media and entertainment hardware businesses and regularly advises senior management at the world's largest media and technology companies, including the Hollywood studios, television networks, consumer electronics companies and telcos, as well as regulators and major investment firms. He is also a regular speaker at international conferences and guest lecturer at the Media Business School. Mr. Cryan holds a BA and an MA in Philosophy from University College in London.
