Prior to IHS, he served in this same capacity for Fekete Associates, which IHS acquired in 2013. Earlier in his career, Mr. Brunner worked for Encor Energy as a well test specialist. As the firm’s supervisor of all Western Canadian Basin well testing, he provided PTA support and on-site supervision at numerous onshore and offshore petroleum basins. Before Encor, he worked for Tri-Ener-Tech Petroleum Services, where he focused on pumping oil well optimization, including AWS buildup survey and dynamometer surveys. He began his career at PanCanadian Petroleum (now EnCana), then moved into well test analysis during his first stint at Fekete Associates in 1979. Mr. Brunner has actively volunteered with the Petroleum Society of CIM since 1991, including serving as the chairman of the well testing special interest group for three years, being elected to the National Board of Directors in 2000, and acting as chairman for the 2002 Canadian International Petroleum Conference (CIPC). He served as the Petroleum Society’s chairman in 2006 and successfully negotiated a merger with SPE. In addition to his volunteer work for other industry associations, he has co-authored several papers on well testing and is a member of ASET and SPE Canada. Mr. Brunner graduated from the Petroleum Engineering Technology program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, Calgary, Canada.
