Dr. Sarah Haggas is the Director of the Middle East team for the Global E&P Reporting Service (GEPS) at IHS Markit. Based in the company’s Tetbury, UK office, Sarah is primarily responsible for editing and reporting oil and gas information and activity in Iraq, Syria, Kuwait, Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon and the Divided Zone. Prior to this position, she served as a field researcher at IHS Markit for the Australasia and Middle East regional teams.
A PhD graduate in Geology from the University of Leicester, UK, Sarah also holds a Master of Science degree in Geochemistry from the University of Leeds, UK. Before joining IHS Markit in 2002, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher for the Borehole Research Group at the University of Leicester.
Sarah is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain and the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers. She has delivered presentations and published several articles on the Middle East E&P sector and speaks English. Focus areas include Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Eastern Mediterranean upstream hydrocarbon exploration, development and production.
Victor Myakishev is Director of IHS CIS upstream reports and data services. He has over 35 years of experience and an in depth knowledge of the geology of Russia and the CIS countries specifically Western Siberia, Sakhalin, Russian Arctic, Caspian and Black Seas and Central Asia.
His areas of expertise are in Basin Analysis, Prospect and Resources Evaluation, Sedimentology and Tectonics, Seismic Analysis (2D and 3D) and Petrophysics. Prior to joining IHS, he worked for Pennzoil 3 years (1996 to 1999), helping develop their portfolio with a main focus on Azerbaijan and the Gulf of Mexico. He spent the first 15 years of his career as a Geologist with ZapSibNIGNI (West Siberian Research Geological Petroleum Institute) which was a part of the Ministry of Geology of the USSR.
He has a Master’s Degree in Petroleum Geology (Exploration) from Tyumen Oil & Gas University (Russia) and a Master’s Degree in Earth Resources Management from University of South Carolina, US.
