John Gallagher is Washington, DC-based senior Americas correspondent for Fairplay, specializing in regulation and risk. He specializes in US container trades, offshore, dredging and port construction and US maritime regulations. Prior to joining IHS Markit in 2009, he covered the US trucking and rail sectors for Traffic World magazine and the Journal of Commerce for 10 years. He graduated from Florida State University with an English and business degree.

Tim McLaughlin

Industry Solutions Senior Manager, IHS Markit

Tim McLaughlin is Director of Industry Solutions, responsible for the development of custom data solutions within the IHS Markit Maritime and Trade division. In his role, Tim leverages our four core Maritime & Trade data assets to meet the needs of customers in specific industry verticals. This involves working closely with customers and partners including government agencies, supranational organizations and businesses to ensure our data and analysis tools are meeting customer needs. Tim’s expertise lies in data analysis and project management which lend itself to new product development.

Prior to joining IHS Markit six years ago, Tim has worked in a business process improvement capacity for a large scale pre-employment screening company based in Manhattan, NY. He has a degree in Criminal Justice from Pace University in Westchester, NY. Tim is currently located in the Manhattan, New York office.
