Based in London, Karl Dewey is a CBRN analyst for IHS Jane’s and Proliferation editor for IHS Jane’s Intelligence Review. Prior to joining the editorial team, Karl was content editor for IHS Jane’s Electro-Optics Systems, and IHS Jane’s Radar and Electronic Warfare Systems.
Karl has a BSC in Politics and Economics from the University of Bristol, and a MA from King’s College London in Terrorism, Security and Society.
Alex Pape is responsible for naval platforms and sonar systems in the Jane's Markets Forecast and Defence Procurement portfolio, providing insight on current and future naval procurement programmes and upgrades around the globe. He is also a member of the naval analysis team and contributes to Jane's Defence Weekly, Jane's International Defence Review and Jane's Defence Industry on naval procurement issues. Alex has been with IHS Markit (then Jane’s) since 2004. He previously served with the German Army and has a BA in politics and international relations from the University of Kent, and an MA in international conflict studies from the King’s College London War Studies Department. Areas of focus were studies on civil-military relations and the proliferation of weapons.
Jon Hawkes manages the Jane’s Land Team of experts, covering the Land Warfare Platforms reference titles, as well as military vehicle-oriented market forecasting and programme tracking products. Jon has worked on land warfare content within the market forecasting, technical reference and industry research teams for Jane’s since 2010. Prior to Jane’s, he worked as an operational analyst with the Home Office and Serco, a multinational public service provider. Jon graduated from the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK, with a bachelor’s degree in war studies.
