Aromatics Fundamentals and Trading Workshop 2016

This workshop is a good primer for industry newcomers and those needing a refresher in the aromatics business. The technology, markets and economics of the business will be broken down and explained in easy to understand terms. This year’s workshop will also discuss key aspects of global aromatics trading.

This course will cover Benzene, Toluene and the Xylenes, and explore chemical structures, physical form, logistic issues, trade balances, key players, and value chains. Simplifying aromatics complexes – separations techniques, and rebalancing supply/demand via isomerization and interconversions. The afternoon session will present a broad overview of how aromatics are commercially transacted/traded and taught through usage of case examples.

Introduction to the Olefins Business

This full-day workshop is a good primer for industry newcomers and those needing a refresher in the olefins business. It will break down and explain petrochemical feedstocks, new production technology, markets and economics of the olefins businesses in easy-to-understand terms.
This course will cover ethylene, propylene, and the C4 olefins (butadiene, n-butenes, isobutylene) – chemical structures, physical form, sources, logistic issues, trade balances, key players, and value chains, as well as olefins technology including crude to chemicals, catalytic cracking of ethane/methane and MTO/CTO.
