As Vice President of Core Map group at HERE, Mattias leads the team responsible for all aspects of our map content development and maintenance worldwide. He has been with HERE (formerly NAVTEQ) since 2010, leading a variety of product, operations and business development teams.
Prior to making maps, Mattias held various product management and business development roles a Motorola, Siemens and Ericsson.
He holds a Master’s degree in Physics from The Lund Institute of Technology in Sweden, a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lund University and an MBA from INSEAD.
Joe Langley serves as Principal Analyst for IHS Automotive with responsibility for North American production forecasting and market analysis. He has over 20 years of automotive experience relating to forecasting, competitive intelligence, leasing and residual valuation and industry analysis. Mr. Langley has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Hofstra University.
Antti Lindstrom leads the sales and production forecasts for the medium- and heavy-duty truck markets in the NAFTA region. He brings to IHS Markit deep experience with both on- and off-highway applications and powertrains, having also spent time with Power Systems Research, where he managed the industrial and marine gas turbine as well as heavy diesel engine products.
Mr. Lindstrom is part of the IHS Global Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle team and is based in Colorado.
Mr. Lindstrom earned a Master’s degree at the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Turku, in Finland, and is fluent in several European languages.
Brian Rhodes is an analyst of automotive technology, focusing on user interface and user experience applications. His primary responsibilities include tracking various automotive HMI applications including Center Stack Displays, Instrument Clusters, Head-Up Displays, touch screens, speech recognition, and more on a global basis. His role also includes assessments and benchmarking of vehicle infotainment usability, as well as speaking to the market on behalf of IHS Markit at automotive technology related conferences.
Prior to joining IHS in 2015, his work experience includes several positions in governmental and legal offices as well as market research positions in urban development, finance, and automotive. Brian received both a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
Colin Bird is a Senior Analyst with IHS Automotive, primarily focusing on Services, Apps and Software (SAS). Along with updating the SAS service with daily news items, bi-weekly analyst insights, profile reports and in-depth reports, Bird also assists with client requests, database work and with presenting at major conferences and trade shows as it relates to SAS.
Prior to joining IHS, Bird worked for Mintel, a market research firm, as an Automotive Analyst focusing on consumer behaviors and attitudes as it is related to light-vehicle retailing, hybrids and EVs, motorcycles, vehicle financing and auto service care, among other subjects. In addition to Mintel, Bird previously worked for Cars.com as an Automotive Editor and has over seven years of experience in automotive research/media publishing.

Mr. Gao Tao serves as the Manager of the Greater China Light Vehicle Production Forecast service. His expertise in light vehicle production forecasting for China and Taiwan includes OEM strategy, platform, market trend and product lifecycle analysis of government policy and consumer pattern issues. Before joining IHS Automotive, Mr. Tao took the responsibility in the Strategic Market Research area in an German auto component company in Shanghai for seven years. He holds a master degree of Economics from the University Freiburg, Germany.
Matthew Spears has worked for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) since 1998. Over the past 15 years his work at EPA has been instrumental in finalizing some of EPA’s significant air pollution regulations, which have been projected to save thousands of lives annually by reducing vehicle emissions by upwards of 95%. In the past Mr. Spears held leadership positions at the International Civil Aviation Organization and at the International Maritime Organization, where he worked to set new standards to improve greenhouse gas and NOx and PM emissions from aircraft and ocean going ships. In previous work, Matt has also focused on improving EPA’s emissions test procedures, which are essential for certifying today’s cleanest vehicles.
Mr. Spears is currently responsible for directing the development of EPA’s heavy duty diesel emissions regulations. These include emissions standards for heavy-duty trucks, buses, construction and agricultural equipment, locomotives, and marine engines. Mr. Spears is currently focusing on efforts to develop EPA’s second phase of heavy-duty vehicle GHG standards.
Chris Brady is Principal of Commercial Motor Vehicle Consulting (CMVC), a market research and analytics firm, focused exclusively on the North American commercial vehicle industry. CMVC provides customers with marketing information and analysis for business planning, sales/marketing strategies and to evaluate investment plans for the North American market. Chris formed CMVC in 1999.
CMVC’s has partnered with IHS in developing databases for the commercial vehicle parts aftermarket to help companies identify sales opportunities, sales/marketing strategies and apply metrics to business operations. Databases are accessible online and have been integrated into business planning processes.
CMVC provides subscription publications to keep customers update on current trends and forecasts of vehicle sales as well as proprietary research to meet customer’s unique information requirements. CMVC’s client base includes vehicle/trailer manufacturers, OE and aftermarket parts suppliers, tire makers, oil companies, financial institutions, industry trade organizations, trade magazines and fleets. Research from this diverse customer base gives CMVC a unique perspective of the commercial vehicle industry resulting in-depth understanding of a wide range of factors influencing vehicle operator’s purchasing decisions.
Chris has been researching and analyzing the commercial vehicle industry for nearly 30 years and is a member of the National Association for Business Economics and is a member of its macro and industry forecasting census groups. Chris received a Bachelor’s degree from Hobart College and a Master’s degree in Economics from Fordham University.
NTEA – The Association for the Work Truck Industry (Farmington Hills, Michigan)
Doyle Sumrall’s insights come from more than 30 years of engineering and business management experience. Prior to his current management role at the NTEA, he held several executive positions, including Vice President of Manufacturing for Stahl/Scott Fetzer Company and Director of Engineering and Operations and General Manager of Hydraulics for WALTCO Truck Equipment Co. Doyle also serves as Managing Director of the Green Truck Association, NTEA’s well-known affiliate division which focuses on green truck products, truck technology developments and alternative fuel initiatives.
Doyle is a member of SAE and serves on the Board of Clean Fuels Ohio.
