Andrei Roudoi, Ph.D.

Sr. Manager, IHS Maritime & Trade

Dr. Andrei Roudoi is Senior Manager of the IHS World Trade Service and leads the development of international trade forecasting capabilities for the IHS Maritime & Trade group.

​He brings 25 years of experience in modeling, analysis, forecasting, and project management related to international trade, macroeconomics, fiscal policy, finance, investment, and country comparison, including over 18 years with IHS. He manages the World Trade Service (WTS), the firm's flagship international trade forecasting product. He also develops short-term and long-term forecasts for the United States as a whole, US coastal areas, and individual US ports. He is currently developing forecasts for over 100 US ports as an enhancement to WTS. Working closely with Dr. Lawrence R. Klein, Nobel Prize Laureate in Economics, Dr. Roudoi has developed econometric analytical and forecasting models of key macroeconomic variables for Russia, Armenia, Romania, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Brazil and other countries. He has also managed projects funded by international organizations and government agencies, such as the World Bank, USAID, and the European Commission. He holds a doctorate in Economics from the Pennsylvania State University, State College, Pennsylvania, US.

Global Foreign Trade Forecasting. Since 2010, Dr. Roudoi has been managing the World Trade Service (WTS), the firm's flagship international trade forecasting product that provides a complete picture of international trade and commercial freight traffic across 106 countries and regions and 201 commodity categories. WTS uses 16 value and volume indicators covering the key modes of transportation (air, sea, and overland), along with seaborne cargo types (dry bulk, liquid bulk, general cargo/neo bulk, and containerized). Dr. Roudoi led the development of the Canadian Foreign Trade Forecasting Model (broken down by port and border crossing) and developed foreign trade and sectoral forecasts for Pacific and Indian Ocean countries. He also managed a study of the impact of free trade agreements between the EU and Armenia and Georgia and an analytical project on trade barriers in Ukraine. 

United States Foreign Trade Forecasting. Since 2006, Dr. Roudoi has been developing short-term and long-term forecasts for the United States as a whole, U.S. coastal areas, and individual U.S. ports. He developed Macroeconomic Scenario Model of U.S. Containerized Imports and produced forecasts for Port Tracker (monthly containerized import forecasts for major U.S. and Canadian ports). He participated in preparing forecasts for the Port of Long Beach. Dr. Roudoi is currently developing forecasts for over 100 U.S. ports as an enhancement to WTS.

Macroeconomic Analysis and Forecasting. Working closely with Dr. Lawrence R. Klein, Nobel Prize Laureate in Economics, Dr. Roudoi developed econometric analytical and forecasting models of key macroeconomic variables for Russia, Armenia, Romania, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Brazil and other countries. ​
