Michael Rodgers is Vice President of Energy Insight based in Kuala Lumpur and is the IHS leader for upstream research and consulting activities in this region (Upstream, midstream, downstream & chemicals). Prior to IHS, Mike was PFC Energy Managing Partner based in Asia. During his 30-year career as a Petroleum Geologist and Petroleum Economist, Mike has developed deep expertise in geotechnical and economic risk assessment in numerous basins of South America, Africa, the Middle East, the Indian sub-Continent, and Southeast Asia.
Mike has also served as a Senior Vice President of International Business Development with Ocean Energy and Vice President of Business Development at United Meridian Corporation. From 1981-1994 Mike held several technical and managerial positions at Marathon’s research center, corporate headquarters, and in North Africa. His positions with Marathon included Area Manager, Chief Geologist, and Exploration Manager. He started his career at Gulf Oil Research and Development Company in 1978.
Robert is a Director within the Upstream Cost and Technology consulting practice. He brings a wide range of experience from over 12 years in the E&P industry, from pre-FEED engineering and cost estimation to asset valuation and through to strategic advisory and new ventures.
Robert has been based in Singapore since 2012, where he carries out consulting assignments, predominantly focusing on cost engineering, cost estimation, facilities development and asset valuations. Recent projects have included assisting regional service companies with strategic market assessments, valuation of extensive facilities at the end of a PSC and the long-term capability development of a cost estimation team within a regional NOC. He also contributes key cost analysis and benchmarking for asset acquisition due diligence projects. Robert presents regularly at industry events on regional cost trends and project development challenges.
Previous to relocating to Singapore, Robert was an engineer within the QUE$TOR development in London, where he was responsible for the development and enhancement of numerous cost models as well as providing client support and training.
Robert holds a MEng degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK and is a member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers.
Owen has over nine years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, holding roles in Upstream Research covering India Sub-continent and Australia, product development and customer support. Owen is based in IHS Tokyo supporting IHS Vantage®, an innovative new online application that provides detailed valuation analysis for global upstream oil and gas assets.
Owen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of Exeter.
