Deborah Resley

Latin America Regional Manager, IHS

Deborah and her team cover E&P activity throughout Latin America. She also authors and edits monthly and annual GEPS reports as well as weekly E&P highlights in the region. A successful geologist and explorationist, she held domestic and international senior management positions in Dallas, London and Houston with Enserch Exploration, BG and BHP Billiton prior to joining IHS.

Deborah has 35 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, beginning in onshore US exploration and followed by exploration in the UKCS and the Former Soviet Union as well as commercial and technical business development in Russia, Kazakhstan, Trinidad & Tobago, Argentina and Peru. Deborah holds an honors BS degree in geology from Florida State University and an MS in geology from Penn State University. She completed the International Management Development program at INSEAD in France.

Deborah is a frequent speaker on technical and commercial issues in upstream and midstream. She is a member of the IAPGH (Instituto Argentino de Petroleo y Gas Houston), the Houston Geological Society, Colombian Geoscientists Network and the AAPG. She grew up in Puerto Rico and speaks English and Spanish.

Stuart Lewis

Senior Director, International Regional Teams

Stuart Lewis is Senior Director of Energy Technical International Regional Teams for IHS in EMEA.

Stuart joined IHS in 1999 as a technical analyst and researcher. Since then he has worked as a Middle East Regional Manager and Senior Regional Manager. Prior to joining IHS permanently, he worked on an ad-hoc basis for IHS (IEDS) in Singapore and in the UK during the early-to-mid 1990’s. Stuart has 25 years experience in the international oil and gas industry and has spent terms working in the UK, Asia, Latin America and Middle East.

Based in the IHS Tetbury, UK office, Stuart coordinates the activities and development of international technical teams for the EMEA & CIS divisions in order to enhance coverage and writes a Middle East regional E&P report with his colleague Dr. Sarah Haggas. In addition, he leads a staff of managers, analysts and researchers based in Geneva, Moscow and the UK who monitor regional activity, and regularly consult with clients on exploration and new business development opportunities. Stuart holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in geology and a diploma in exploration techniques.

Steve Parish

Senior Principal Economist

Steve is a Senior Principal Economist in the team which produces PEPS, IHS’s multi-client information service covering above-ground risk. Steve is a self-taught Petroleum Economist with 30 years’ experience in the upstream petroleum industry – including 19 years with IHS. He specialises in researching and reporting fiscal and contractual terms for petroleum E&P around the world as well as computer modelling of petroleum fiscal regimes. He also contributes to consulting assignments, drawing upon his global perspective on fiscal regimes. This has allowed him to contribute to many fiscal benchmarking studies over the years as well as offering advice on the overall design of fiscal systems and their individual terms.

Steve has undertaken various international presentations, including Fundamentals of Discounted Cash Flow Analysis as part of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) two-day Oil & Gas Asset Evaluation & Decision Analysis workshops in Houston (2009, 2013, 2014, 2015), London (2010), Bogotá (2011) and Paris (2013). He has lectured to Masters-level Energy courses at Sciences Po, Paris (2014, 2015) and at Queen Mary, University of London (2014).

Prior to joining IHS, Steve worked for UK-based E&P companies with international upstream petroleum asset portfolios. Steve has a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (1979) and an MBA (1987).
