Dr. Inoguchi has been involved in the market research and business analysis of the chemical industry in Japan and Asian countries after he joined IHS Markit (formerly SRI Consulting) as a senior consultant in 2003. His contributions include market research reports preparation for Specialty Chemicals Update Program (SCUP) such as electronic chemicals, printing Inks, paper chemicals water management chemicals, biocides and overview of SCUP.
Prior to joining IHS Markit, he was engaged in R&D of electronics materials such as liquid crystals, photoresists at Hoechst more than 10 years, and in electronic chemical business at Bayer more than five years. He received a Doctor degree in Chemistry from the Technical University of Munich in Germany and conducted chemistry research as a postdoctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States.
Don is currently responsible for the Technology and Analytics Group that is the process chemical technology and economic hub of IHS Chemical; and prior to this he was in charge of the Consulting business groups within IHS Chemical.
Throughout his 35 year career, he has directed numerous consulting studies consisting of technology, economics, commercial, financial strategic and environmental issues associated with a variety of bio, petrochemical, chemical and refining industries. At IHS, Don collaborated on consulting studies across multiple industry sectors including energy, electronics, automotive and country risk. Associated with engagements, Don has worked directly with clients in nearly 50 countries with particular emphasis on the Americas and Asia. Prior to joining IHS, he worked at Nexant, ChemSystems as Senior Vice President and Director, where he was responsible for Nexant’s Global Energy Resources and Chemicals Business Unit.
Don began his career as a Process Design Chemical Engineer at Kvaerner (John Brown Constructors). He holds an MBA in Finance and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut in the USA.
