AltaLIS Surface Contours is provided through a partnership between IHS and AltaLIS. The 1:20,000 Digital Contour Data file is a digital representation of a land's relief that is geo-referenced to the AB Survey Control Markers. This data focuses on Contour Linework, two dimensional contour lines, and arcs at ten meter (20 meters in mountainous regions) intervals, and elevation text derived from 1:20,000 DEM data. The contours consist of arcs and index annotation that combine to create a cartographic theme to define Alberta's topography. The contour is based on the AltaLIS comprehensive Digital Elevation Module.
