Geophysical Surveys Database
The IHS Geophysical Surveys Dataset is a component of the IHS International Exploration and Production Database. Our Geophysical Surveys Dataset allows quick screening of surveys shot, by area, as well as analysis of vintage and service companies so you can scan opportunities for data acquisition, worldwide.
-
A component of the International Exploration and Production Database, the Geophysical Surveys Dataset is used by petroleum engineers, geologists and geoscientists to access data on survey date, area or concession block, operator, contracted seismic company, crew or vessel, number of kilometers shot, and gravimetric or magnetic stations and acquisition details, such as energy source or CDP fold.
Worldwide Geophysical Data
This comprehensive database contains worldwide data on 51,300 geophysical surveys, including 2D, 3D and 4D seismic, gravity and magnetic surveys. A basic center point of the survey is also provided.
Use this dataset to:
- Quickly screen surveys shot in an area
- Identify areas that are possibly underexplored
- Determine crew efficiency
- Scan opportunities for potential seismic acquisition, by area
- Identify underperforming operators for possible farm-in opportunities
- Evaluate the type of survey (spec, exclusive)
- Review acquisition dates
- Determine contractor companies
Survey Navigation Dataset Details
You can also access detailed onshore and offshore seismic acquisition data to locate lines and areas. The dataset includes:
- More than 270,800 2D shotpoint lines, totaling 8.76 million kilometers
- 2,800 3D coverage areas, totaling coverage of over 2.02 million km2
