SNZ produces standards for materials, processes, construction and technology used throughout New Zealand.

Standards New Zealand (SNZ) is New Zealand’s leading developer of standards and standards-based solutions and is the trading arm of the Standards Council, a Crown entity operating under the Standards Act 1988. The Standards Council, an appointed body with representatives from a wide range of community sectors, is the governing body for SNZ.
SNZ specializes in developing and marketing national, regional and international standards, offering an independent, efficient and cost-effective service to a wide range of organizations. The majority of standards are developed in partnership with Standards Australia. SNZ represents New Zealand representative at the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC.
