Amiel is Regional Managing Director for Latin America and the Caribbean in the Country Intelligence Group. He is responsible for coordinating the analysis and forecasts of IHS economists and analysts who cover 42 countries in this region, including the Caribbean islands. He holds a PhD in economics from Florida International University (FIU), where he also served as adjunct professor of economics and was a research associate in FIU's Latin American and Caribbean Center.

Enrique Sira, IHS CERA Director, leads IHS CERA Andean Energy and Mexico Energy Advisory Services. He is an expert in portfolio optimization, decision making and capital allocation for the oil and gas industries. Mr. Sira has over ten years of experience in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, where he has held positions ranging from field engineer to financial controller of international operations. His experience includes oil and gas exploration, business planning and strategy, business development, project finance, economic analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and risk analysis and management.
Mr. Sira has authored a number of IHS CERA private reports and decision briefs on hydrocarbon policy, strategy and regulatory regimes in Latin America. He has also performed significant work in the areas of portfolio optimization, designed and implemented uncertainty characterization and management programs for exploration and production assets worldwide and performed numerous project valuations and risk analysis internationally. In his academic and professional experience Mr. Sira has authored a number of research papers contributing to modern portfolio optimization theory, such as “Semi Variance as Real Project Portfolio Optimization Criteria with Application in the Oil and Gas Industry,” in the International Journal of Global Energy Issues.
Mr. Sira holds a BS from the Universidad Simon Bolivar (Venezuela), an MS from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (United Kingdom) and a joint MBA/MA from the Wharton School of Business/Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania.

Bob Fryklund is VP of Energy Research and is an expert in Global Upstream issues. He applies his strong E&P background to strategic problem solving in key areas such as Upstream portfolio balancing, M&A and access strategies and company valuations.
Mr. Fryklund joined IHS in 2006, after serving as Libya president and Brazil country manager for ConocoPhillips. He brings more than 32 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry as an explorer and as executive manager. He has also held senior management positions in upstream with British Borneo, Union Texas and Hess.
Mr. Fryklund is an expert in exploration, opportunity assessment, acquisition, strategic planning and portfolio management. He has been involved in two of the largest oil and gas discoveries in the last 20 years and is well known for his insights around all four pillars of supply — unconventional resources, field growth, exploration and acquisitions. He has also provided technical and strategic advice on two of the top deals in Latin America and the World in the last two years.
He is a recognized industry thought-leader and frequent keynote speaker/moderator at energy industry conferences and associations, including the World Economic Forum, IHS CERA Week, AAPG, SPE, IEA,OTC, AIPN and NAPE. He serves on the advisory board of IPAA and the AAPG-TAC committee and previously served on boards such as the IBP (a Brazilian oil and gas association), the Libyan-U.S. Council (a bilateral trade association), the SPE-Libya and the American School of Tripoli. Bob has also written numerous articles in several languages and regularly contributes to leading industry publications.
A geologist, Fryklund holds an AB from Hamilton College and an advanced certificate in management. He has also completed advanced studies in business and geology from the University of Houston and the University of Tulsa, respectively. Bob is a member of the Houston Geological Society (HGS) and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG).
