Dynamic Depth Conversion (Kingdom)

Abstract: Companies are challenged with maintaining accurate depth seismic volumes and their interpretations as new well data is being acquired. The process of building and updating velocity models can be time consuming and prone to errors. A new game changing innovation is being developed that facilitates easy construction, maintenance and display of time data in the depth domain. This system is completely integrated into Kingdom allowing horizons and well tops to be associated into a grid based velocity model providing extremely efficient interpretation workflows. As wells are drilled new interpretation information is gathered and incorporated into the depth conversion providing immediate feedback for faster and better decision making. Now it is possible to leverage the seismic volumes and interpretations in the depth domain to optimize reservoir navigation and avoid drilling hazards without the cumbersome process of building velocity models using traditional methods.
