New Integrated Seismic and Geological Workflow Solution

IHS has integrated IHS PETRA®, IHS PetraSeis® and IHS GeoSyn™ to provide a seamless and complete geological and geophysical workflow solution that enables interpretation, synthetics and seismic modeling. Users can enable workflow collaboration, access and view digital log data, generate and export synthetics and perform uncertainty analysis to refine seismic interpretations. The solution simplifies an asset team's workflow by making it easy to integrate results in a common PETRA project.
It all starts with detailed modeling using GeoSyn to guide seismic interpretation in PetraSeis. This enables high grading of PETRA prospects. Users can then depth-convert seismic grids, cross sections with seismic backdrops or even complete seismic volumes and integrate them into PETRA. Once in PETRA, this information can be used for 3-D interpretations and analysis of drill-ready locations.
With this integrated solution, users no longer have to move data between applications using flat files during the seismic workflow. Instead, geological, engineering and petrophysical analysis and display capabilities are integrated, making it easier for companies to find more oil and gas.
It also lets geologists view and change seismic interpretations created by their geophysicists without having to have access to high-end expensive interpretation systems. In addition, the solution supports modeling of what-if scenarios, allowing users to export synthetics and 2-D models into their preferred geophysical interpretation workstations.
