NAPE Expo 2011 Now Offers Two Executive All-Day Events, Both Sponsored by IHS

The world's largest prospecting and property expo is just around the corner. NAPE Expo 2011 kicks off February 16 in Houston with two executive all-day events - one will focus on domestic issues while the other will take an international perspective. IHS is the exclusive sponsor of both events.

For nearly 10 years, IHS has sponsored the NAPE International Forum, working closely with NAPE organizers to create the agenda and invite speakers. But in 2010, NAPE introduced a second event, the Domestic Conference, that examined the U.S. E&P outlook. Due to its popularity, NAPE has brought it back, and will be offering both events the day before the Expo starts on February 17.

With the theme "Bullish Signals for International E&P," the NAPE International Forum will focus on opportunities and strategies companies are employing internationally as oil demand increases and global LNG markets tighten. Speakers at the event include Ivan Sandrea, vice president of planning at Statoil; Carlos Macellari, director of geology at Repsol; and Jeffrey Collins, director of Gran Tierra.

The theme of the domestic conference is "Making Informed Decisions in Unconventional Times." The conference will feature Steve Mueller, Southwestern Energy president and CEO, and Michael Economides, author of "The Color of Oil." Throughout the day, speakers will provide insight into unconventional plays, U.S. energy policy and regulatory changes, and future E&P opportunities.
