The Japan Society of Automotive Engineers (JSAE) publishes automotive standards through the Japanese Automotive Standards Organization (JASO), a division of the professional organization. These documents are used by designers and manufacturers of standards for systems, parts and performance for:

- Automobiles in general
JSAE authors and revises automobile standards, prepares draft Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) and discusses the drawing up of international standards.
