Concrete Society

The Concrete Society publishes multiple documents that apply to the design and use of concrete in construction.

The Concrete Society and IHS partnership agreement grants IHS rights to include a wide range of Concrete Society, British Cement Association and British Precast Concrete Federation publications in The Construction Information Service (CIS).

The Concrete Society works through the co-operation of its members who come from all sectors of the industry to exchange information and experience to enhance the performance, productivity and quality of concrete as a construction medium. Supported by the technical and administrative staff of The Society, its members collaborate to produce and disseminate state-of-the-art reports, recommendations and practical guidance.

The activities of The Society's advisory, technical development, professional/business networking, education and information services provide the construction industry with a major focal point for information and a proactive forum for debate and action. The Society plays a vital role in encouraging the use and development of concrete as a uniquely versatile and competitive material.

Dissemination of information is a major feature of The Concrete Society's work and takes place in a number of ways: by direct one-to-one contact with the staff of the Concrete Advisory Service; by technical publications; by national and regional seminars, and through the monthly magazine CONCRETE and the newsletter News and Views.

The Concrete Society's independent Concrete Advisory Service provides prompt, impartial technical advice on all concrete related problems whether they are on-site, in the project planning, specifying or completed project stage. All employees of a corporate member of the Society get unlimited free telephone & email access to the team of advisory engineers.

The Society is also actively developing a major education & training initiative including a package of accredited qualifications designed specifically for the concrete industry.

Custom Online Standards Collection

If you need a collection of individual standards/documents, then the IHS custom standards collection works best for you. This option allows the greatest flexibility allowing you to pick and choose specific documents, whether they come from one or more SDOs. IHS does not require that you purchase a minimum number of documents to use this option. Your custom collection allows for multiple users at multiple locations to access the documents you have chosen.

Individual Purchase

All standards are also available for purchase as individual documents through the IHS Standards Store in PDF or hard copy formats. 

Deposit Accounts

Deposit accounts are a great way for a customer with online access to obtain the individual standards they need. Using a deposit account, an online customer can obtain PDF and hard copy documents outside of their online subscription. For the hard copy customer, this is perfect way to control purchasing and reduce paperwork. Most documents and publications purchased through a deposit account received a 10% discount from the regular price. To create your deposit account, simply download this pdf, fill it out and return it to the address noted on the form. A minimum $500 (US) is required to set up your deposit account.
