The Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA) develops and maintains standards that apply to the quality and performance of builders’ hardware. These standards are accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and meet performance requirements for building codes.
In addition, BHMA is involved in international standards, code and life safety regulations and other activities that specifically impact hardware.
BHMA Standards are used by architects, construction
specifiers and construction designers to specify hardware for doors and windows used in commercial and institutional buildings.The BHMA standards collection offered by IHS covers topics such as:
