American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE-SAFETY)
ASSE standards identify hazards and outline safety procedures in the workplace
-
The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) creates safety standards that are used globally to protect people, property and the environment.
ASSE participates in the development and maintenance of its safety standards. Many ASSE standards are incorporated by reference into OSHA Safety and Health requirements. Compliance to these requirements is mandatory for companies maintaining working facilities and for all new construction.
Occupational safety standards from ASSE cover topics such as:
- Personnel hoists and employee elevators
- Safe practices for motor vehicles operations
- Safety, health, and environmental training
- Fall protection
- Safety audit programs
- Construction safety management
- Confined spaces
- Demolition operations
