AEC Construction Standards

The IHS collection of architectural, engineering and construction (AEC) standards contains data and regulations that provide the necessary information for successful construction projects. The standards and specifications carried by IHS in this collection are of interest to engineers, architects, construction companies and safety professionals working in construction.

The documents in this collection contain standards that are referenced in the International Code Council’s (ICC) International Building Codes (IBC). The standards contain information on topics such as commercial and residential projects, underground sewer and water system design and construction and other topics relevant to construction.

Because the IBC cannot readily address in detail every specialty area of construction methods and materials, these documents reference standards that supplement the building codes by setting forth conditions or requirements to which a method or material must adhere. This compliance provides an acceptable level of safety for building occupants. The IHS AEC Collection covers all aspects of the design, engineering and construction process.
