PEP Review 90-1-1
Propylene Oxide by the Olin Process
Published: April 1991
Olin Corporation is developing a new process for the direct oxidation of propylene to propylene oxide. In this review, we look at the process from a qualitative perspective and compare the process with current commercial processes (assuming a 25% ROI) . Compared to commercial processes, the Olin process could be competitive with the ethylbenzene hydroperoxide type of process at a low propylene price.
