Methanol from Natural Gas by ICI's LCM Process

Published: March 1993

ICI has recently developed an improved methanol process called the LCM process (Leading Concept Methanol). This process uses the gas* heated reformer design developed by ICI for their LCA (Leading Concept Ammonia) process. In this reforming scheme, methane is steam reformed in a first stage, followed by oxygen reforming in the second stage.

Our analysis calculates the capital cost and prduct value for a 2,500 t/day LCM plant.
