Cumene by a Catalytic Distillation Process
Published: May 1994
Distillation Technologies (COTECH). In the process, benzene is alkylated with propylene while unreacted benzene is separated simultaneously from reaction products in a catalytic distillation column reactor.
Our preliminary evaluation indicates that a catalytic distillation process can compete economically against "conventional" cumene processes using solid acid catalyst.
