This second supplement to Process Economics Program (PEP) Report No. 10 covers the technology of manufacturing flexible, high resilience, rigid, and polyisocyanurate foams, as well as urethane elastomers. Economics are presented for the manufacture of urethane foam slabstock, rigid polyisocyanurate foam laminates, molded high resilience urethane foam seat cushions, molded urethane elastomer automotive fascias and bumpers, and molded urethane elastomer shoe soles.
Limited information on urethane feedstock producers and urethane processing equipment suppliers is given. Adhesives, coatings, sealants, and fiber are not reviewed.
