This report is concerned with processes to produce three of the chlorinated solvents, trichloroethylene, perchloroethylene, and methyl chloroform. Although one of the seven processes that were evaluated can be considered obsolete by modern standards, it is believed that all of the evaluated processes (or variations of them) are practiced commercially.
Some information was received from licensers, but the designs in this report are based primarily on information contained in patents or government reports. From a process design standpoint, the technical articles and trade journal articles that were received provided only limited assistance.
