This study is concerned primarily with the technology and economics of carbon monoxide recovery from mixtures with hydrogen or nitrogen. Section 5 considers the separation of carbon monoxide from synthesis gases by a Linde cryogenic process. Section 6 evaluates the recovery of carbon monoxide from blast furnace gases by the Tenneco COSORE® system. Methods for the concentration of carbon monoxide in gas mixtures are examined briefly in Section 7. Section 7 also looks at underground coal gasification as a potential source of synthesis gas.
