Raster Well Log Data (Canada)

Available through AccuLogs®, Data Manager and PETRA® software, the Raster Well Log Data (Canada) log file is the most comprehensive and current log data for Western Canada.

Our raster database contains all the interpretive logs required for submission to the governments of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northern Territories and the American states of Montana and North Dakota. New logs are received weekly from the different government agencies and processed on a daily basis.

At IHS all logs are scanned from the original paper logs and depth registered prior to loading into the raster database. All logs are scanned at 400 dpi ensuring you the best print quality. All logs are marked for their segments (including headers, scales, main passes and repeat sections) allowing additional functionality within our application.

All Neutron porosity and Density porosity logs have been identified and tagged to permit selection by matrix. Sandstone, Limestone, Dolomite and Bulk Density you choose which matrix you want to see. This functionality is only possible through complete depth registration.

Available by regional subscription, all IHS raster images are indexed to IHS Well Data. This makes them easy to find and download directly into IHS applications (i.e., AccuLogs®, PETRA®, Data Manager and IHS Enerdeq® Desktop) and/or other applications capable of importing and reading the images. Once imported, the images are fully depth calibrated and can be used for building cross sections and to support further analysis.

The IHS Raster Well Log dataset contains all the interpretive logs and information previously submitted by oil and gas companies to the provincial governments of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and the federal government for the Northern Territories and the East Coast. The raster logs are available to customers a few days after release from the appropriate government agency.
