American Water Works Association (AWWA)
AWWA publishes standards and manuals for the design, installation, performance and manufacturing of water industry products.
The American Water Works Association (AWWA) publishes more than 140 consensus standards for equipment and materials used in the treatment and distribution of drinking water. Standards apply to pipe, valves, meters, fire hydrants, chemicals, water storage tanks, filters, wells, and more.
AWWA Standards Committees produce standards that provide industry-approved technical guidance for 24 categories of products and processes in municipal water supply systems.
In addition, AWWA publishes more than 40 manuals that serve as a reference library for day-to-day water operations.
The AWWA Standards collection contains directives such as:
- Disinfection of facilities
- Groundwater & wells
- Pipe installation
- Plant equipment
- Valves & hydrants
AWWA, along with American Public Health Association (APHA) and Water Environment Federation (WEF), also co-publishes Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, 22nd Edition, a comprehensive reference with the most current lab methods for water and wastewater analysis.
