GDM maintains comprehensive and accurate pipeline data and provides spatially corrected pipeline locations that have been taken from public data and adjusted to the surveyed right of ways and to imagery. Providing full coverage for Western Canada and information for major transmission lines and gathering lines in Eastern Canada, Montana and North Dakota.

Gas Plants

The most accurate, comprehensive and current gas plant information for Western Canada, Gas Plant dataset brings together information from various government sources and directly from gas processors within Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. GDM actively contacts plant operators year round to ensure information is current and accurate gas plant production as reported by producers is updated monthly.

Details on all active and non-active gas plants in Western Canada include:

Facilities

When facilities are licensed only the legal description is reported therefore at best, the facility can only be placed in the center of the smallest survey unit. The result of this data limitation is significant with positional errors of up to 400 meters for both Dominion Land Survey (DLS) and National Topographic Survey (NTS) locations.

Through the development of a series of complex business rules and algorithms GDM has been able to resolve more accurate placement for over 94% of all facility locations in Western Canada. In addition, the new GDM processing methods preserve and maintain the corrected facility location throughout the facility's lifecycle.

The only source of spatially accurate placement of facilities available in Western Canada, the Facilities Dataset complements Gas Plant, Enhanced Pipeline, and Low Pressure Gas Pipeline datasets and includes information on facilities such as:

The IHS Low Pressure Gas Pipeline data provides comprehensive low pressure distribution pipeline coverage for Alberta excluding major cities and First Nations reserves, in partnership with Rural Utilities Division and Rural Gas Distributors to deliver the data to industry. The data is enhanced and structured into an easy-to-use spatial format and offers:
