Search Capabilities
IHS Haystack Gold advanced search engine indexes and cross-references all of the databases in Haystack, allowing you to quickly identify parts, suppliers and procurement history. You can also search specific databases or across multiple databases using the Super Search or BatchPlus feature.

BatchPlus
BatchPlus is a convenient method for searching several items all at one time. You can submit a list of parts on a bill of materials, for example, and then the output data is delivered in a report format with default fields or fields you select. The report can also be in a variety of formats, such as Microsoft Excel, HTML or PDF.

Cross References
IHS Haystack Gold has the flexibility to cross reference your NSN or part to specification documents in IHS Standards Expert or to our CAPS Universe electronic component product, which allows you to search over 100 million electronic, electro-mechanical and fasteners parts to find exactly what you need.

Additionally, cross-referenced data to other applicable databases includes the full Commercial Activity Government Entity (CAGE) record based on Dun & Bradstreet data and the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) with company contact information.

Main IHS Haystack Gold Databases

• The Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS) database cross-references NSNs, manufacturer's part numbers and CAGE codes and related data, such as the Management List-Consolidated (ML-C) that provides pricing, stocking and procurement information on NSNs within the federal supply system.
• The Procurement History database contains data from the US Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and other agencies. This information includes sources supplying the military, what was paid for an item and how often it was purchased.
• The Vendor/CAGE Database provides addresses, phone numbers and other related company data for firms that manufacture or distribute items procured by the US government. A CAGE code is the company code.

Other Popular Databases

• The US Navy's Allowance Parts List / Allowance Equipage List (APL/AEL) database cross-references part numbers, NSNs and CAGE codes relevant to APLs or Trident AELs. Both databases display top-down, bottom-up relationships between parts in the system.
• The National Forging and Tooling Database (NFTD) is exclusive to IHS as an add-on database to IHS Haystack Gold. The NFTD is designed specifically to help organizations quickly and easily search, identify, locate and procure items that require forged tools. More than 200,000 tolling identification numbers are in the NFTD and are directly linked with the extensive IHS Haystack Gold parts and logistics data, including manufacturers’ part numbers and US Government National Stock Numbers (NSNs).
• The Government Solicitations database provides RFQs posted to various federal government solicitation web sites. Open solicitations are uploaded multiple times per week and allow users to search by solicitation number, NSN/NIIN and requesting agency and other criteria.
