Austerity in the western world has led European defence contractors to look internationally to maintain growth, with an emphasis on the vibrant emerging markets of the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.
Near term opportunities are creating longer term risks, however, as a result of technology transfer demands and increasingly arduous offset demands.
IHS Jane’s will argue that the attractive markets of today risk becoming the self-sufficient competitors of tomorrow.
This online briefing will discuss the trend towards greater technology transfer and industrial participation demands from emerging markets, and explain why international growth may threaten the long-term health of Europe’s defence industrial base.
