Phil Gott, Senior Director of Long Range Planning for IHS Automotive, draws upon over 35 years automotive industry experience assessing forward-looking technical, business, regulatory and societal trends to help senior management improve company performance. Mr. Gott often employs the scenario approach to help improve the competitiveness of automotive OEM and supplier businesses in uncertain times by creating and implementing technical, business and market-entry strategies to achieve targeted business results.
Mr. Gott's experience ranges from hands-on powertrain and vehicle development to long-range technology and market planning. He is especially adept at integrating technical and market inputs to develop novel solutions to tough competitive challenges. His clients benefit from substantial gains in volume and market share, even during market downturns, business growth through focused product development and avoiding potentially problematic acquisitions. Phil is an often-quoted and sought-after public speaker at industry conferences on new technologies and market challenges.
Gott holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Lafayette College where he was invited to join the International Mechanical Engineering Honor Society, Pi Tau Sigma. He has been a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers since 1975.
