, Director, Global Powertrain and Components Forecasts and Analysis
Eric Fedewa, Director of Global Powertrain and Components Forecasts and Analysis, is responsible for global powertrain sales and production forecasting, future product program intelligence and market analysis, assessing future technologies and trends, and supplier and global integration issues. In his two decades at IHS, he has authored more than 170 market studies assessing the supply of vehicle components and systems in support of vehicle build with an emphasis on supply chain analysis, material and technology usage trends, and market valuation.
Mr. Fedewa is the author of numerous whitepapers and presentations on legislation, energy, technology and vehicle fuel efficiency. He is frequently quoted by worldwide print, radio and TV media on a variety of industry topics in addition to being a frequent speaker at global automotive conferences. He has participated in lobby efforts in support of the US automotive sector and testified at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) hearings on US fleet fuel economy standards and the California Waiver.
Prior to joining IHS (CSM Worldwide) in 1993, Mr. Fedewa participated in advanced studies of automotive internal combustion engine theory, design and machining technologies while holding an advisory position addressing pre-production serviceability concerns at the Midsize Car Division of General Motors.
Eric holds a BS in Automotive and Heavy Equipment Fixed Operations Management from Ferris State University. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and Society of Automotive Analysts (SAA).
