Navigating the Emerging Markets: Indonesia

IHS Jane’s is hosting the Navigating the Emerging Markets: Indonesia Webinar on July 28, 2011

Indonesia is forecast by Jane’s to increase defence procurement spending by 71 per cent between 2011 and 2015, with a total investment of almost USD9 billion anticipated for the four year period.

Recent procurement trends suggest that Jakarta will cast its net relatively widely when buying military equipment, indicating that opportunities for international contractors will be numerous.

The Indonesian market presents many challenges for market entrants. Corruption remains a subject of concern and Indonesia’s approach to procurement in the past has lacked cohesion. Military programmes have often faced significant delays, while the anticipated introduction of an inaugural offset regime within 12 months may place an additional burden on contractors.

This IHS Jane’s “Navigating the Emerging Markets” webinar and accompanying market report tackles the obstacles to success in the Indonesian market; offset practices; international relationships; procurement strategies; and defence industrial intelligence.
