Rajiv Biswas, Senior Director and Asia Chief Economist at IHS, is responsible for coordination of economic analyses and forecasts for the Asia-Pacific region, contribution to the IHS global forecast, client support, business development and media interaction.
Mr. Biswas previously worked as Director for South-East Asia for The Economist Group. Prior to this, he worked for UBS as Executive Director for Asia-Pacific Country Risk and before that as Director and Senior Economist for International Public Policy and Group Economic Research covering the Asia-Pacific region. His experience has also included working for an international organization, the Commonwealth Secretariat, in their London headquarters, as a senior economist in the International Capital Markets Department.
His professional career as an international economist also includes the roles of Head of the Economics Unit for QIC, a large investment fund manager, and an international economist for the Royal Bank of Scotland. Rajiv also worked for one year in Japan on trade and investment issues for the Japanese government.
Rajiv is a graduate of the London School of Economics, with a BS (Honors) in Economics and received his MS and DIC from the Imperial College at London University.
Rajiv has published widely on a range of economic, trade and investment-related topics, with over 100 published articles.

Charles Chesbrough, Senior Economist, is responsible for developing and integrating macro-sales forecast scenarios and models into IHS Automotive worldwide global forecasts. Prior to joining IHS Automotive, Mr. Chesbrough was a Senior Consultant in Ford Motor Company's North American Marketing Strategy Group. In addition, Mr. Chesbrough is an expert in market research and econometric analysis through many years as a consultant to Fortune 500 companies.
Mr. Chesbrough was a Ph.D. student in economics at Michigan State University, holds an M.A. in economics from the University of Illinois, Chicago and a B.A. in economics from Michigan State University.
At IHS Automotive as consultant, Danny Kim is in charge of Strategy Consulting/Advisory Service and Custom Projects Management on Automotive Infotainment & ADAS related issues for global automotive OEMs & Tier ones. Such issues include infotainment platform architecture, IVI operating systems (OS), physical/ wireless/ digital radio/ media access connectivity interfaces, mobile devices & content integrations in the car, Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), IVI system usability, and Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) & Vehicle to Vehicle/Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2X).
He’s been Senior Analyst of Automotive Infotainment Unit since 2007 at IHS iSuppli until January 2012. He has tracked; analyzed and forecasted how PND and other portable navigation platforms evolve with emerging LBS business models and also focused on analyzing the impact of the mobile services into automotive infotainment and OEM strategies.
He’s been a frequent industry trend column writer and conference speaker on mobile devices and services industry as well as automotive infotainment markets. He’s been frequently quoted by major media such as NYT, Business Week, Nikkei Electronics, EE Times, etc.
Before joining IHS, he played multiple roles at Samsung Electronics in-house ad agency (Cheil Communications) in Korea and ACNielsen Korea for primary consumer research. He received Masters Degree from the University of Illinois and then spent 2 years at Ph.D. program in University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, majoring in Marketing with minors in Statistics and Psychology.
Darren has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a Masters degree of Commerce (Economics Major) from the University of New South Wales, Sydney and has acquired more than 16 years experience in the petrochemical industry in all aspects of the business; commercial, operations, design and business planning, as well as consultancy.
Darren began his petrochemical career in 1990 with Dow Chemical as a Process Engineer for its Propylene Oxide Derivatives unit in Melbourne Australia. He then joined ExxonMobil, in one of its joint venture facilities, as Operations Development Manager for the olefins & polyolefins business unit. Prior to the joint venture, Darren was with ICI Chemicals as a Process Specialist, working in the chlor-alkali & vinyls business. Darren was then seconded to ICI’s titanium dioxide business unit before moving to the ethylene and polyethylene manufacturing plant management role of Area Team Leader.
Darren joined CMAI in its Proprietary Service department in 2002 as a Project Manager and has since completed market studies across the full spectrum of petrochemical products. With his operations management background, he has also conducted technical and commercial due diligence assignments on many petrochemical production facilities within Asia. Darren has completed many pre-feasibility studies for projects both in Asia and the Middle East.
