Russian and Caspian Energy Roundtable

IHS CERA is hosting the Russian and Caspian Energy Roundtable in Paris on June 8.

During the Russian and Caspian Energy Roundtable, IHS CERA experts will lead discussions on:

  • Caspian Gas Heads East and West
    Caspian gas will go west to Europe in ever larger volumes, but likely via export routes that differ from the initial plans. In the meantime, Caspian gas continues to flow east to China, but China's appetite for these imports may ultimately prove limited.
  • Impact of Changes in Russian Oil Export Taxation on Russian Refining and Refined Product Exports
    As Russia changes its export taxes so that refined product exports are not so heavily favored, Russian refinery operations and product exports will decline, releasing more crude back into the export stream. These reductions in product export volumes, which have mainly gone to Europe, will have a significant effect on European refineries and product markets.
  • Russian Electric Power Developments: Prices Grow Rapidly with Complete Liberalization
    After several years of transition, 100 percent of sales to industrial consumers are now determined in the market. Prices to end-consumers have grown rapidly (threatening the ongoing recovery in Russian industry), while prices for generators have not; much of the increases have accrued to intermediate players. What steps are being taken to keep end-user prices reasonable while providing more cash to fund electricity moderization?
