On day 1 of the IHS New Year's Forecast, IHS will present forecast analysis on energy, international trade, transport, construction and the chemical industry and has invited external experts to specifically discuss the German market. The seminar part of the day will close with a keynote speech on the German automobile industry, which will set the stage for one of the key German industry sectors for 2012.
On day 2 of the IHS New Year's Forecast, managers and specialists from the automotive sectors of sales and production forecasting, heavy commercial vehicles, powertrain technologies, components, OEM analysis, and consulting will offer their latest forecasts, products and services for presentation and discussion.

Timo Klein, Senior Economist, IHS
Andrew Ellis, IHS CERA Managing Director, Global Analytics, is an experienced energy economist with over 20 years of consulting, model development and research experience in the European and international energy markets. As head of the IHS CERA Global Analytics Group, Mr. Ellis is responsible for applied energy modeling, including the Global Energy Scenarios projections, the energy-economy-environment outlook models and research on the energy-economy interface.
Prior to its acquisition by IHS in 2008, Mr. Ellis led the Global Insight European energy consulting and retainer services. Previously he was a Partner and Director at the Norwegian consulting firm ECON, where he was Director of Gas Analysis and Director for Business Development (Energy).
His expertise includes European energy demand, supply and pricing models; Asian gas demand, new investments and power generation dispatch models; and modeling oil, gas and power projects in international markets such as Kazakhstan, Namibia, Uganda, Bangladesh, South Africa and Mozambique. He also led scenario analysis on a number of projects, developing client-specific and multiclient scenarios examining the European gas and power markets.
Mr. Ellis holds a BA (Hons) from Nottingham University, United Kingdom, and an MSc from Imperial College, London.

Behlmer is responsible for the management of the IHS Automotive global Component team and forecasts, global future component supply chain intelligence and market analysis, assessing technologies and trends as well as the automotive suppliers' activities and strategies. Prior to joining IHS Automotive, Behlmer worked for 5 years as a journalist for one of Europe's leading automotive industry magazines, covering a wide range of topics from strategic alliances to alternative powertrains. Behlmer held positions in Marketing and Sales at 2 European OEMs. He is widely quoted in European automotive publications and has written multiple editorial contributions. Behlmer holds a Diploma in Economics from University Bremen, Germany.

Stuermer is Research Director of vehicle manufacturer (OEM) strategy within IHS Automotive. He is responsible for the analysis and assessment of global vehicle manufacturers and specializes in the European premium brands. Before that, he was responsible for the analysis and forecast of the German-speaking automotive markets in Europe, as well as for the management of the automotive service products of Global Insight. Before joining IHS, he spent six years at Daimler in various management positions, most recently in Strategic Planning and Product Portfolio Management at Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars.
As Director at IHS Automotive, Henner Lehne is responsible for managing the Global Light Vehicle Sales Forecast service and leading an experienced analyst team in each of the key automotive regions around the world.
In early 2005, Henner joined CSM Worldwide GmbH in Germany as a market Analyst, forecasting light vehicle sales in Europe. In 2007 he was promoted to become the Manager of European Advisory Services. During his Advisory time, he acquired and managed European-centric consulting projects for CSM.
In March 2008, he was appointed to be the global director for the light vehicle sales forecast service.
After the merger of CSM and Global Insight, creating IHS Automotive in March 2010, Henner maintained his position and now coordinates the joint product teams and joint services for this new entity. Prior to joining CSM Worldwide, Henner worked in the central marketing department at Porsche AG in Stuttgart, Germany.
Henner holds a degree in international business and marketing from Fontys University of Professional Education, located in the Netherlands.

Jürgen Sorgenfrei has over 20 years experience in global trade, shipping, port and hinterland operations, including port planning and development, transportation marketing and regional economics.
Prior to joining IHS, he served as chairman, sales and marketing for the Port of Hamburg, headquartered in Germany but with an additional 13 offices in Europe, Asia and the US. Mr. Sorgenfrei received his diploma in Economics from Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel, Germany and wrote his dissertation at the University of Hamburg's Institute for Traffic Science. He is regular lecturer at different universities.

Dr. Ralf Wiegert is Principal Economist with IHS Global Insight’s Country Analysis and Forecasting Group, having joined the company in 2004. He is specialized on European and CIS emerging markets, conducts daily analysis of economic and political developments, risk assessment, and forecasting and is directly responsible for IHS Global Insight’s macroeconomic and risk models of Poland, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. He has written extensively about economic developments in Europe and the CIS, presenting analysis and forecasts at numerous client seminar and conferences.
In addition to his core role, Ralf Wiegert has been managing several projects on global macroeconomic scenarios for strategic business planning. He has also frequently presented IHS Global Insight’s European as well as the global economic outlook at seminars and conferences.
Prior to joining IHS Global Insight, Wiegert worked as head of the Russia research group at the European Institute for International Economic Relations, following his graduation from Potsdam University with a Ph.D. in Economics in 2002.
Mathyssek, Analyst of Manufacturer Developments, analyzes manufacturer developments and key market trends in selected global markets covered in the World Truck Industry Forecast Report. He specializes in manufacturers' corporate strategies and financials. Mathyssek has extensive industry experience in corporate strategy, planning and finance. He has an MBA in finance, controlling and econometrics from Maastricht University (the Netherlands).

Timo Klein is a Senior Economist in the Country Analysis and Forecasting Group of IHS Global Insight. He is responsible for providing economic and risk analyses for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein, as well as modeling and forecasting macroeconomic conditions for these countries. Located in the IHS Global Insight Frankfurt office, he joined the company in 2004.
Prior to joining IHS Global Insight, Klein worked as a managing analyst at MMS International, heading the team responsible for Eurozone macroeconomic analysis. Prior to 1999, he was the company’s German economist and Bundesbank watcher, analyzing interactions between German economic and interest rate developments. Besides appearing regularly on Reuters, Bloomberg, and CNBC, and giving numerous presentations on central bank policy and economic issues, he has published a number of research papers, notably on topics related to the European Monetary Union and the role of the ECB.
Klein holds a Master of Arts in Economics from Eastern Illinois University and a German diploma degree in Economics following studies in Frankfurt and Munich.
