As seesawing European gas demand shows no sign of stabilizing, the Roundtable will focus on what changes may be wrought by another year of low demand and traded prices at a discount to long-term contracts. The presentation will review the outlook for supply, demand and price across Europe. We will discuss the weak demand seen during 2011, the outlook for 2012 and the implications for hub liquidity, long-term contract pricing and infrastructure development. There will also be discussion of the long-term outlook (to 2035) for demand, supply and infrastructure, including gas storage.

Robert Fraser, Director, European Gas , IHS CERA specializes in European fundamentals and market modeling. His expertise includes price forecasting, modeling optimal hedging and procurement strategies, and developing scenarios for market development. He also has expertise in corporate strategy analysis and planning.
Before joining IHS CERA Mr. Fraser was Gas & Oil Fundamentals manager at Centrica, where he analyzed long-term gas supply and demand trends and UK National Balancing Point price forecasting. Previously he worked in Centrica's corporate strategy and procurement strategy teams on analyses of a wide range of energy business issues including gas storage, the development of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme, electricity dispatch modeling, and asset valuation.
Mr. Fraser holds an MA from Cambridge University.
Catherine Robinson, Senior Director, IHS CERA is an expert in the European gas markets and contributes regularly to the IHS CERA Advisory Service research. She has also worked on numerous tailored consulting assignments for clients, including international oil companies and European utilities. Ms. Robinson specializes in hedging and risk management and has expertise in market and credit risk management for trading organizations.
Before joining IHS CERA Ms. Robinson worked for Centrica, most recently as Gas Hedging Strategy manager at Centrica Energy. She also worked in Centrica’s risk management department looking at market and credit risk in the United Kingdom and for Centrica’s overseas businesses. Prior to Centrica Ms Robinson worked for HSBC’s Capital Market’s division.
She is the author of numerous IHS CERA reports, including analyses of the future of oil indexation in Europe, the role of gas in the power generation sector, and short- and long-term energy market fundamentals. She was a primary contributor to the IHS CERA Special Report Strategies for a Lean Europe: Meeting the Energy Efficiency Challenge.
She holds a BSc and an MSc from the University of Glasgow and an MSc from the University of London.

Shankari Srinivasan, IHS CERA Managing Director Europe, Global Gas, is part of IHS CERA Senior Leadership Team. In addition to her management responsibilities Ms. Srinivasan is also head of IHS CERA European gas research and is responsible for the development of IHS CERA European gas analysis and its communication to clients. Ms. Srinivasan has also worked on numerous tailored consulting assignments for clients, including major gas producers, European utilities, and financial investors.
She has extensive experience in providing strategic analysis and recommendations at the board and senior executive level. Before joining IHS CERA Ms. Srinivasan was Head of Gas Fundamentals at Centrica Energy. She is the author of numerous IHS CERA reports, including analyses of business models, supplier strategy, and short-term and long-term fundamentals. She was a primary contributor to the IHS CERA Special Report Securing the Future: Making Gas Interdependence Work.
Ms. Srinivasan holds a BA from Brown University, an MSc from the University of Pennsylvania, an MSc from New York University, and an executive MBA from the Cranfield School of Management.
James Taverner, Associate Director, Global Gas, specializes in the European gas market. His expertise includes quantitative analysis and model building of supply and demand fundamentals, as well as tracking prices, storage use, and spot market liquidity.
Before joining IHS CERA Mr. Taverner worked for the United Kingdom Government Department for Work and Pensions, managing a research team and advising on social security issues. He holds an MA from Cambridge University.
