Tim Armstrong, Vice President of IHS Automotive, is responsible for all automotive research and analysis at IHS. His team comprises 140 automotive analysts who are present in 20 locations worldwide and cover practically all aspects of industry automotive research including sales, production, powertrain technology and components and dealer network planning, analysis and data.
Mr. Armstrong has over 20 years experience in forecasting and analysis, specializing in the analysis of emerging markets. From 1989 to 1996, he was a senior commodities analyst for Commodities Research Unit in London. Since joining DRI in 1996 he has headed automotive forecasting research for Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. More recently he has been involved with the management and development of the group’s research capabilities through the acquisition, integration and growth of CSM Worldwide, iSuppli, IMS, Supplier Business and BDW. These companies, together with the former Global Insight, have come together to form IHS Automotive.
Educated in Australia, Tim holds a Master of Economics degree from the University of Western Australia and Bachelor's degrees in economics and finance from Murdoch University and Curtin University. His spoken languages include English and French.

Ren is a Beijing-based Senior Analyst in the Global Economics and Country Risk Group, contributing to the China research of the China Regional Service and the Country Analysis and Forecasting Service. Ren has extensive experience in the analysis of China’s economic, policy and regulatory developments. Ren holds an MA in international trade and investment policy from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University.
Tony Wang (Liang Wang), Principal Analyst at IHS Automotive Shanghai Office, joined CSM Worldwide in 2006 as a powertrain analyst; CSM was acquired by IHS in 2010. Mr. Wang has six years automotive industry analysis experience with IHS. As principal analyst, Mr. Wang’s responsibility focuses on the automobile powertrain market. Prior to joining IHS Automotive, he was with Dongfeng-PSA as a powertrain engineer for three years.

Xizhou Zhou, Director, IHS CERA, leads the IHS CERA China Energy practice and specializes in gas and power market fundamentals and policy analysis. Based in Beijing, Mr. Zhou is a core member of the IHS energy research and consulting team in Asia.
Mr. Zhou is the author of numerous IHS CERA reports and has managed a variety of consulting engagements. His latest research includes contributing to the IHS CERA Multiclient Study Unconventional Frontier exploring the future of shale gas and coalbed methane outside North America, as well as leading the analysis on the causes and likelihood of future power shortages in China and the implications for the wider energy markets.
Prior to joining IHS CERA Mr. Zhou was a consultant engaged in regulatory and energy economics projects at Industrial Economics, Inc. in Boston. Earlier in his career he was a research analyst at the World Resources Institute in Washington, DC, where he focused on energy and transportation in developing Asia and Latin America. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and proficient in Spanish, Mr. Zhou holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Environmental Management degrees from Yale University.
Xizhou Zhou, Director, IHS CERA, was named in the Forbes ’30 Under 30’ Energy Category.
James Chao, Director for the APAC region of IHS Automotive, oversees the Asia Pacific market and assists OEMs, suppliers and financial institutions in a variety of areas, including long-term strategic planning, market entry, competitor studies and technology roadmaps. He also ensures that all relevant resources of IHS, including economic, energy, chemical and technology capabilities are integrated into the consulting solution for the client. The APAC automotive team includes analysts and consultants in China, Japan, Korea, India and Thailand.
Prior to IHS, James served as a consultant at Casesa & Co., an automotive advisory firm based in New York where he specialized in projects in the emerging markets. Prior to Casesa & Co., he held various senior positions at Penske Automotive, a publicly-held, international automotive dealership group and was a consultant at First Manhattan Consulting Group, a leading management consulting firm specializing in the financial services industry. He holds a BA in History from Harvard University.

Andrew Fulbrook is responsible for the management of the IHS Automotive global powertrain team and forecasts, future global product program intelligence and market analysis, future technologies and trends assessments, as well as qualitative consulting activities surrounding powertrain electrification.
Prior to joining IHS Automotive, Fulbrook worked extensively in the area of European Powertrain and component research, providing information to the automotive industry on trends and analysis. He is widely quoted in European automotive publications and has written multiple editorial contributions. Fulbrook holds a Higher National Diploma with Merit in Mechatronics including Higher Mathematics, as well as a National Diploma in Engineering Science, both from Brooklands Engineering faculty, Surrey, England.
