Alex Klein, Research Director, Clean and Renewable Power Generation, manages a team of analysts that evaluates and provides strategic advice about markets for grid scale renewables, energy storage, and carbon capture and sequestration. He has over 10 years of consulting and research experience in the energy sector, with a focus on novel energy technologies, renewable energy markets and business strategies related to alternative energy.

Mr. Klein also leads IHS EER’s North American Renewable Power services and has managed and authored numerous in-depth market studies on European and North America Renewable Policies, Geothermal, Wind, Ocean Energy, IGCC, Carbon Capture and Storage, and US Transmission. Alex and his team have forecasted long-term renewable power capacity and generation in over 50 countries based on a comprehensive analysis of market fundamentals, industry structure, and energy policies.

Mr Klein’s prior experience includes conducting due diligence and independant appraisals of novel renewable energy technologies for sources of project finance and private equity. Alex holds an MS in Engineering from Columbia University.
