The conference focuses on looking at Russian domestic power production, domestic thermal and met coal production, export coal production to Europe and Asia, Russia’s transport logistics for domestic use and exports, shipping markets, export ports, export coal volumes and a review of coal demand Asia and Europe. There will also be special focus on Russia’s energy mix and Russia’s steel production.
This event is for end-users, coal producers, traders, financiers, shipping operators and logistics operators within the Russian coal markets.
Russia’s coal sector is seeing the benefits of the improvements in the global economy and saw total output of around 320mt in 2010, with almost 100mt being exported. However with the changing dynamics in the industry, Russia is focusing more and more on markets at home and in Asia.
For the international market there are many questions to be asked concerning Russia. Can metallurgical exports respond to the increasing market overseas and, if it can, how will this impact upon the flow of steam coal exports? Where do Russian suppliers see their priorities for growth? Is the Russian infrastructure set to struggle to meet the demands placed upon it forever?
The McCloskey Russian Coal Markets Conference 2011 will cover the following topics and more:
