SAE Standards Collection
IHS retains the largest electronic collection of SAE standards, totaling more than 24,000 active, cancelled, non-current, revised and withdrawn standards containing changes from revision to revision for maintenance of aircraft, heavy equipment, and military ground and air vehicles, dating back to 1922.
SAE Aerospace Material Specifications
More than 3,100 active SAE Aerospace Material Specifications (AMS), which are recognized as the authoritative resource for the world’s aerospace and aircraft community. SAE AMS are procurement standards and not design standards.

SAE Aerospace Standards
More than 4,700 Aerospace Standards (AS), Aerospace Recommended Practices (ARP) and Aerospace Information Reports (AIR) are available from IHS. These are the guidelines for the design and production of thousands of aircraft parts and components.

SAE Ground Vehicle Standards – (SAE J Reports)
The full collection of more than 2,600 SAE J Reports cover hundreds of topics relating to the design, manufacture and test of today's ground vehicles - commercial and consumer - and emerging technologies such as alternative fuels, hybrids, fuel cells, electric vehicles and telematics. The J Reports Collection from IHS includes access to content from the United States Council for Automotive Research (USCAR), the collaborative automotive technology organization for Chrysler Group LLC, Ford Motor Company and General Motors. SAE/USCAR Standards is a set of documents published through a cooperative research project between SAE and USCAR.

SAE DoD Adopted Standards
More than 3,600 SAE standards have been adopted by the DoD. The SAE DoD adopted standards collection has direct application in research, design engineering, maintenance, purchasing, bidding and logistics for any self-propelled vehicle in military, commercial and civilian use worldwide.

SAE Manuals – Handbook Supplements

SAE Historical Standards
The SAE historical standards subscription is continually updated as revised standards are issued and includes 14,000 SAE, AS,AMS and GV standards and material specifications from the 1922 to the present. The SAE historical standards databases, covering aerospace and ground vehicle applications, include all cancelled, superseded, withdrawn and prior revisions of current documents

SAE Technical Papers
More than 90,000 technical papers published by SAE from 1906 to the present are available from IHS. SAE Technical Journals

IHS provides SAE Journals, formerly known as SAE Transactions.

These online journals feature linking that facilitates academic research, discovery and citation of featured SAE International technical papers to increase authors’ eligibility for inclusion in the scientific community’s various indexes. SAE International has partnered with HighWire Press to produce the online journals. HighWire Press, a division of Stanford University Libraries, is host to 70 of the 200 most frequently cited science journals.

The SAE International Journal of Aerospace covers topics such as: avionics, environment, flight sciences, operations, maintenance, fastening, assembly, tooling, manufacturing, materials and structures, power, propulsion, safety, vehicle systems, systems engineering, unmanned aerial vehicles and space environmental systems.

The SAE International Journal of Materials and Manufacturing covers all types of materials and manufacturing techniques for automotive and aerospace engineering technologies. R&D and application areas include but are not limited toferrous and non-ferrous materials, powdered metals, ceramics, plastics, polymers, casting, stamping, forming, welding and joining, design for manufacturability, fatigue and life cycle assessment.

The SAE International Journal of Engines offers details on engine research such as: homogeneous charge compression ignition; spark ignition engines; diesel engines; electric vehicles; fuel cell vehicle applications; combustion; electronic engine controls; engine components; emissions control systems; and fuel economy.

The SAE International Journal of Fuels and Lubricants focuses on topics such as: alternative fuels, lubricants, additives, deposits, catalyst technology, fuel properties and effects, environmental implications, diesel emissions and more.

The SAE International Journal of Passenger Cars - Electronic and Electrical Systems contains the latest developments in the electronics/electrical fields, including: intelligent vehicles/ITS, 42-volt technology, vehicle electronics, control systems, telematics, vehicle architecture, 3D modeling, safety research, human modeling and ergonomics.

The SAE International Journal of Passenger Cars - Mechanical Systems provides details on brake system design, chassis stability, ride comfort simulation, tire rolling resistance and vehicle thermal systems issues. It also includes papers on external vehicle design issues such as structural optimization, aerodynamics and crash resistance, including a variety of safety issues such as rollover testing, fire safety and human performance (dummy testing).

The SAE International Journal of Commercial Vehicles pertains to both on-road vehicles (trucks, buses, SUVs, and vans) and off-road vehicles (agricultural, construction, military, unmanned and utility vehicles).
