IHS Rig Location Data provides information on Canada's drilling rig fleet through a daily update of activity. For members of the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC), the data lists all pertinent drilling and rig information.

The data includes:
- Rig location data for Canadian provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Northwest Territories
- Attribute data: rig name, contractor, location, status, area name, UWI, spud date, project depth, rig type, and contractor contact information
- Coordinate data that can be used to create shape files or SDE data
- Data is updated daily
- Data is available digitally from the information hub
