The Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) develops standards related to component marking, data modeling, color coding and packaging materials. Companies with products and services that range from the smallest electronic component to the most complex systems used by defense, space and consumer product industry use EIA standards.
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredits EIA standards. The EIA standards and technology department oversees current and future standards activity and ensures that each standard follows the due process and procedural guidelines established by EIA.
