The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation, and Enforcement (BOEMRE),formerly known as the Minerals Management Service (MMS), is a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Interior and manages the natural gas, oil and other mineral resources on the outer continental shelf (OCS) of the U.S. As part of its mission, BOEMRE creates and adopts standards that stipulate the processes and technologies utilized during deep-sea exploration and extraction.
The IHS collection of standards from BOEMRE continues to be known as the IHS MMS Collection of Referenced Standards. These standards are used by engineers, compliance personnel and regulatory management working in the fields of petroleum, chemicals and mining. In addition the IHS MMS Collection of Referenced Standards is used by companies that support the operation of offshore exploration and production use this data.
IHS provides three different MSS Referenced Standards Collections:
